Caramel Mocha Granita

Caramel Mocha Granita

Inspired by the fancy coffee shop drinks, here’s a simple freezer treat that is yummy but easier on the wallet!

How great is this recipe for the early fall?

The granita originated in Sicily, and it is a flaky and sweet treat. This version is like eating coffee flavored snow!

This granita is easy to make. Simply brew a few cups of coffee, add some sugar, vanilla and camel sauce. Before freezing, try adding a tablespoon of bourbon or whisky to spice it up!

Break apart the ice with a fork every hour or so until it is the consistency of a snow cone. It is suppose to be semi-frozen. If you are after a creamier texture, place the granita in a blender for a few minutes on a low speed to combine with two tablespoons of milk.

The Caramel Mocha Granita is a great make ahead dessert or snack. Served with nutty biscotti, extra caramel sauce and whipped cream it will be very decedent.
