Valentine's Day Snack Mix

“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt!” Charles M. Schultz certainly captured Valentine’s Day.

Perfect for cocktails, parties or a pink champagne brunch, our Valentine’s Day Snack Mix celebrates the holiday in a beautiful fashion! Our Valentine’s Day Snack Mix will no doubt be your true love.

If you need a quick no bake treat, the sweet and crunchy bowl of love is so easy to assemble. The Valentine’s Day Snack Mix can also be wrapped in treat bags for all of those special Valentine’s on your list.

Our Valentine’s Day Snack Mix starts with broken up honey whole wheat pretzel twists, whole wheat o’s or another neutral cereal and strawberry wafer cookies, broken in half. Next, add the yogurt covered pretzels, white chocolate chips, conversation and gummy hearts. Next up is the pink, red and white seasonal coated chocolates and seasonal candy. Add the cherry chocolate after dinner mints and Hershey’s kisses. Gently combine it all together. You may want to save a few colorful items for the very top when the Valentine’s Day Snack Mix is first opened.

The best part about the Valentine’s Day Snack Mix is that it can be customized based on your taste and preference. Starting right after Christmas, there’s as much candy it seems as Halloween! It’s so fun to gather up all of the ingredients (I do this over a few weeks) and see what kind of seasonal candy is available at the market. Choose pink, red and white colorful and flavorful snacks- a mix of salty and sweet usually balances each handful. The options are endless!

If you have dietary concerns, you can easily adjust this recipe for allergies, vegan or gluten free restrictions, just watch out for all of the labels.

The Valentine’s Day Snack Mix is a quintessential make ahead snack. AND you can easily double the batch.

Bonus- make Valentine’s Day Snack Mix Brownies! Prepare brownie batter according to the box’s instructions. Stir in 1 cup of the Valentine’s Day Snack Mix to the brownie batter. Place in the baking dish. Top with 3/4 cup of the Valentine’s Day Snack Mix and bake as directed.

What host wouldn’t want to receive this Valentine’s Day Snack Mix? Buy a large pink bowl or sealable snack container, fill it with bring it along.

Package the Valentine’s Day Snack Mix up for parties with clear 6x9 treat bags tied with red, pink and white ribbon.

How to cook Valentine’s Day Snack Mix

  1. Open contents of all ingredients.
  2. In an oversized clean rectangle food storage plastic container, 1.5 gallon or larger, begin to assemble the ingredients almost like a lasagna.
  3. First, pour an even layer of the pretzels, then the cereal, next the wafer cookies, and add the yogurt pretzels. Combine the Valentine’s Day Snack Mix together.
  4. Layer the white chocolate chips, hearts and seasonal candy, followed by the dinner mints.
  5. Finally, top with Hershey’s kisses.
  6. Mix carefully by hand all of the ingredients.
  7. Using a large plastic cup, disseminate ingredients into goodie bags or smaller containers.

NOTES:

• Get creative, adjust the ingredients to suit your personal taste! Try different cereal, cookies, yogurt covered raisins, nonpareils, pink and red coated almonds, nuts, and jellybeans. Note, the jellybeans will fall to the bottom, so add the candy last.
• If you have dietary concerns, you can easily adjust this recipe for allergies, vegan or gluten free restrictions, just watch out for all of the labels. • The Valentine’s Day Snack Mix makes approximately two-three 64 oz. large food storage plastic containers, depending on your selections.
• Use clear 6x9 treat bags tied with ribbon for parties. • Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to a month.
